The Hindu American Foundation (HAF) condemned an attack targeting an Ahmadiyya mosque in Chantilly, VA. According to media reports, vandals broke several glass windows and caused approximately $60,000 of damage to the community’s mosque. HAF urged authorities to expedite the investigation to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
Read Full Story »After initial media reports indicated that the two children were removed from parents by Norway’s Child Protective Services for purportedly feeding their children with their hands and letting the children sleep in the same bed as them, HAF wrote directly to the Norwegian Embassy in Washington, D.C. and started an online petition to address the issue. The Norwegian Embassy subsequently invited HAF’s Washington, D.C. based Associate Director, Jay Kansara, to meet with Ambassador Strømmen.
Read Full Story »Hindu Americans are appalled by the recent comments made by Republican presidential candidate and former Senator of Pennsylvania, Rick Santorum, on the eve of last Saturday’s South Carolina primary, according to the HAF. While speaking to a town hall audience, Santorum said that the concept of equality did not come from Islam or “Eastern religions,” but rather from the “God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”
