Action Alert: Pakistani Hindu Flood Victims Need Our Help

As we get ready to celebrate Diwali next month, please remember the Hindu victims of the recent floods in Pakistan and help with a generous donation to the Pakistan Hindu Empowerment Fund.  Conservative estimates show that the Hindu community in Pakistan’s Sindh province will require approximately $300,000 for humanitarian supplies such as food, water, clothing and shelter just to survive the winter.

Although media accounts are conflicting, many Hindus have reported facing discrimination in securing the basics for survival and have been turned away at government-run relief centers. Most of the affected have lost all their possessions and will be vulnerable to cold and disease from a quickly approaching winter. Pakistani Hindus have long faced harsh difficulties and discrimination as documented by the Hindu American Foundation -- this natural disaster has served to only worsen their plight.

You can make a difference in their lives by donating to the Pakistan Hindu Empowerment Fund, a Hindu relief fund which has been created with the Hindu Heritage Endowment. This fund will financially assist Pakistani Hindu groups on the ground in Pakistan with their relief efforts. Your donation is tax deductible in the United States.

As you celebrate Diwali in the warmth of your homes surrounded by friends and family, please take a moment to remember those who are less fortunate and struggling to survive. Donate generously to the Pakistan Hindu Empowerment Fund by clicking here.
