As the Co-Chair of
the Caucus on India and Indian Americans, I want to
congratulate you on the recent creation of the Hindu
American Foundation (HAF) and on your first Outreach
Day on Capitol Hill. The HAF’s Hindu Awareness
Campaign brings much needed attention to members of
the House of Representatives and the Senate regarding
the lack of understanding of Hindus and Hindu Americans.
Since the creation
of HAF in 2003, the organization has made a strong impact
on issues affecting Hindus both in the United States,
in India and around the world and I applaud your efforts.
I am confident that HAF will continue to be looked upon
as a resource on issues dealing with the promotion of
Hindu and American ideals of tolerance, understanding,
and pluralism.
